On an important mission from another world, Mare is, alongside his twin sister Aura, the Sixth Floor Guardian of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. Ainz Ooal Gown, their Supreme Leader, had sent Mare to the world of Etheirys to learn more about the culture, history, power, and people of this new land. Urged to make friends and connections, Mare has used his powers of cosmetic alteration, conveniently dubbed "Glamours" in this land, to appear as a Dunesfolk Lalafell, and has taken a practice with White Magic, already naturally adept at many magical incantations from Yggdrasil.
Due to his mission and his natural kindness, Mare comes off as inquisitive and curious, always interested in learning more about people and their activities. In contrast, Mare is often closed off, shy, and a bit hesitant when talking about himself, as he tries to avoid divulging information about his mission and true persona, but dislikes lying to people. His time in Etheirys has caused him to shed some of the social shyness he had as a Floor Guardian of Nazarick, and he tries to be a bit more outgoing and creative, initiating conversations, trying new outfits, and experimenting with the technology and magic of this new world. However, he is quick to embarrass and easily flustered, especially when it's due to his sister, Aura.
Mare is extremely loyal to Ainz, Nazarick, and especially Aura. Obedient and subservient to a fault, he would obey every order given by those he trusts, even if it would spell disaster for him. His sibling bond with his twin is forged in the strongest of steel and nothing can shatter it, trusting each other without question and always supporting his sister with anything she does. While they might tease and toy with each other on occasion, it is always out of love and they never, ever fight.
